Article: Pearls for June

Pearls for June

Pearls for June

This month we're shining a spotlight on June's birthstone, the Pearl - a very special gemstone formed organically within oysters, known by many as the 'queen of gems'.
Renowned for their lustrous beauty and symbolic meaning, Pearls have been long been associated with purity, humility and innocence and are said to bestow long life and prosperity in ancient Sankrit text. Although largely known to be round and white, pearls come in various colours, shapes, and sizes - we're thrilled to have sourced a collection of Tahitian, Keshi and Freshwater pearls.

Stormy Shades

Designed to be worn interchangeably from day to night, our Tahitian and White Pearl Necklace combines beautiful stormy-coloured Tahitian pearls from the black lipped oyster with white freshwater pearls. For a signature Minka look, these pearls have been carefully hand knotted onto colourful thread - a contemporary take on traditional pearls.

Everyday Elegance

Our Atlantis Hoop Earrings pay homage to the treasures of the sea and crystal clear waters with 18k yellow gold, freshwater pearls and precious coloured beads - choose from green chrysoprase, green malachite, pale blue aquamarine and purple tanzanite. These are the perfect alternative to a traditional pearl earring, designed to be seen and loved everyday.

Not Your Mother's Pearls

Designed to be worn interchangeably with the rest of our pearl collection, this necklace features white Keshi Pearls strung on colourful thread. Incredibly high in luster and irregular in form and shape, Keshi pearls grow relatively flat along the bottom of the oyster, a beautiful by-product of the pearl industry.

A Signature Splash Of Colour

Handcrafted in 18k yellow gold, these earrings combine one-of-a-kind Tahitian pearls from the black lipped oyster with vibrant green tourmalines. We have purposely used one dark pearl and one light to create this stunning and very wearable pair of striking earrings.
