Minka & Friends; Meet Elina Pavlidis
Elina is a modern day healer, who spends her time between Mexico and Greece. She worked in Strategy Consulting before embarking on her spiritual path.
I met Elina in London and then again in Greece where I had a one on one healing session which was very special.
When did you first start on this pathway of healing and how did you know you had this in you?
It has been in my maternal lineage - my grandmother was healing burns with her hands and my mother energetically heals people suffering from psychosomatic & mystery illnesses. For me, it started out of necessity for myself. Prior to that, I had little interest and couldn't imagine how much of our lives we could transform. I had been repeating patterns of heartbreak over and over. I was so drained and broken from it, that there was no other way than finding a path to real liberation from my looping patterns. So I started exploring different techniques. From the moment I told the universe 'I'm ready', images, messages, and understandings started pouring in my awareness - particularly at night or in moments of relaxation, like surfing or walking. I would ask a question, and spontaneously I knew. Since then I have deeply studied the mystical and metaphysical world. I have developed more refined ways to bring transformation and healing to people's challenges.
You spent a long time in Mexico learning with Mayan healers, it would be wonderful to hear more about this.
This actually began with a funny story. My roommate in Mexico at the time had just traveled a few hours away to meet this healer and she was so mind blown by her experience with him that she spontaneously invited him to stay with us to teach workshops in our house for the week-end. I was not thrilled to have a surprise visitor and wasn't keen on meeting yet another shaman!I still decided I would join for his first workshop - as it was happening in my living room afterall. Within a few minutes, I had traveled into the cosmos and seen clearly the essence of my being, beyond form. From that moment, I went to study deeply with him and his wife in the Maya Solar lineage. Across the years, I have been recognized as Shaman and solar priestess in this lineage. I still regularly go to spend time with them near Merida.
Can you share one of your most moving healing stories with us?
A few years ago, I was attending a women's circle and one of the ladies, a perfect stranger at the time, shared her situation with the husband - she couldn't stand his presence anymore. Every move he made was irritating her. She was ready to ask him for a divorce, after months of feeling this. I thought I would offer her a healing session in the hope to soothe her agitation. The next day, we met and as she laid down, information started flooding the field. I asked her about a particular period of her life, and she started sobbing heavily. She had never properly processed the grief of losing a boyfriend as a teenager. We concluded our session after clearing old wounds and rebalancing her system. About a month later, I randomly met her. She jumped out of her seat at an outdoor restaurant, and she enthusiastically ran to hug me. She shared how everything had shifted with her husband and that they were back in love, deeper than ever before.
You are working on a very special project in Sifnos, can you please tell us a little more about this and what it means to you.
I'm working on building a Healing Regenerative Center for people to expand into their joy, vitality and full potential. It is a place of meeting our deeper selves, of experiencing new things in a safe container, a place of resolving our pasts so we can express our full potential into the world. For now, we are hosting our retreats in beautiful sustainable villas around Sifnos.
What does an ideal day look like to you?
I wake up with the sunlight, and I immediately dip into the sea with my dogs. I dedicate some time to my Tibetan practices before getting online to hold healing transformative coaching sessions with my clients. I meet a friend or my partner for a yummy home cooked lunch with veggies from the garden. I love spending my afternoons mixing studying, reading, writing and also playing - which ranges from dancing, meeting with friends, nature walk, going for matcha or just playing with the dogs. I close the day with a sunset walk followed by romantic sexy dinner out. Coming home, I spend some time massaging myself. There are specific points in Tibetan medicine that are particularly good before sleeping. Otherwise I indulge in rose oil breasts massage, lovingly taking care of my body while connecting to gratitude for the day.
You travel a lot, what are your must pack essentials?
A couple of wide silk pants, a cosy cashmere sweater, comfy workout clothes, white quartz, rose oil for self-massage, some incense or palo santo to clear the spaces wherever I stay.I pack extra light - I only travel with a carry-on, for a week or months.
